Michelle Obama Press Conference: Really CNN?
Michelle Obama held a press conference with grade-school kids. Cool beans. They talked about the new dog at the White House. Okay, that’s great. Here’s where I get bugged about it, CNN had a two-minute feature on this in the middle of their national news. When I watch the national news, I want to get information about really important things. I want to know what the Congress and Senate are doing. I want to know what President Obama is doing to alleviate the national financial crisis. I want to know about things that affect the nation.
Instead of news, I get this garbage. I’m glad that she decided to go and present a pretend news conference to a bunch of kids so that they would get an opportunity to experience something like that. I’m glad they have a new dog. Honestly, though, the Obama’s wouldn’t give two shits about whether I got a new pet. “And in the national news, Chris just got a fire-belly toad. He says that he particularly likes the croaking in the evenings.” Nobody cares! Honestly, CNN, I can’t believe that you would do this to us.

Oh, really?
Now I am sure that CNN would argue that this is national-level human interest. People care and it makes the first family more human. I am sure that they had some big programming director saying “oh, we absolutely must put this into the schedule. People will go gaga over it.” I think that the image to the right says it all. CNN, can we get some real news now?
