Internet vigilantes, pedobear and water pistols

Posted in Web Stuff on April 27th, 2008 by Ast

Now, it isn’t the most pleasant idea to get caught doing a dirty deed by the cops, but what about the internet community? Well, I’ll say that I think I would rather face the cops than the internet community. Lately we have seen Anonymous really take Scientology to task with their sites, videos and protests. My new favorite story of vigilante internet action comes from the theft of an XBox. So, a theif broke into someones home, stole their TV, laptop and XBox. The victim went to work, calling the police, but was informed that they were no help. Doing a little research he got a photo of the theif. He then posted the image to the internet and told everyone that would listen about his misery. You just have to read it for yourself. Check out the article linked below:

Those of you who have visited 4chan are familiar with Pedobear, the creepy cartoon bear added to images of kids and turning otherwise benign photos into images of weird cartoon pedophile bear activities… It’s just weird and creepy. So, pedobear showed up on a magazine cover. Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself:

So, if you liked playing in the rain as a kid, you will love this… Umbrella water pistols. The umbrella has a funnel on top that traps rainwater so you can shoot people with the gun in the handle. I love this idea, though you should avoid shooting strangers or you might be charged with assault. Just a word of warning.

Top 10 Horror/Thriller Movies

Posted in General Blogging on April 27th, 2008 by Ast

One thing that makes my heart sing is the horror/thriller genre of movies. I know that lots of people enjoy horror flicks, but I border on obsession. I am fortunate in that I have a fiancee that is willing to put up with this and even humor me in sitting and watching them from time to time. Most horror flicks end up being mindless, pointless disasters, but there are some that really stand out as being fun, smart, interesting or otherwise worth watching. Let’s run down my top 10. If you haven’t seen these are you are a horror movie buff, you need to go back to school.

10. In The Mouth of Madness

John Carpenter is notorious for lower-budget, poorly presented Horror movies, but regardless of that fact, he actually appears TWICE on this list. In The Mouth of Madness is a mid-nineties flick that takes alternate reality concepts in movies and twists them in all kinds of ways. A movie about a guy searching for an author that wrote a book that invented the the guy that is searching for the author… yeah. Complicated. Sam Niell is the main character. I always seem to enjoy the movies that he does… I don’t know what to say about that, he just plays interesting characters. Read more »

Emma Watson (God I hate myself sometimes…)

Posted in Web Stuff on April 27th, 2008 by Ast

Ok, you Emma Watson freaks. I don’t quite get it, but all the same, she is legal now. This really reminds me of the Anna Kournikova thing back in the 90’s when there was a countdown going until she was 18. Guess what, folks? Any girl that doesn’t die tragically before her time turns 18 eventually. It’s inevitable. Well it just so happened that all of your wet dreams came true in one night. Not only did she turn 18, but some paparazzo caught her with her pants down… er… skirt up. I post silly pics of girls that are in compromised clothing situations, but I really don’t like the idea of being a purveyor of celebrity smut. Bearing that in mind, here is the pic below… It has been censored to maintain Emma’s honor… umm… yeah. That wasn’t me that posted a pic of Emma pissed on Coronas… sure. Anyway, here you go. Click on the picture if you want to actually see the picture. Enjoy.
